Orange Recruitment are currently seeking a highly experienced and driven Environmental Health & Safety Officer to join our clients team and lead EHS efforts on a significant construction project. This role is pivotal in ensuring a culture of safety, legal compliance, and proactive risk management across all aspects of site operations. Responsibilities: Champion the company's EHS strategy by embedding robust systems, policies, and procedures across the project lifecycle. Act as a key advisor to project teams, management, and subcontractors on all health, safety, and environmental matters. Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulations, industry standards, and internal governance frameworks. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting and sustaining safe working practices across the site. Lead the delivery of site-specific safety training including onboarding inductions for new employees and subcontractor personnel. Oversee the preparation, review, and implementation of task-specific EHS documentation such as RAMS (risk assessments, method statements), permits to work, and SPAs. Conduct scheduled site audits and safety inspections, generating actionable reports and ensuring timely resolution of any findings. Manage incident reporting and investigations, ensuring root cause analysis, escalation to relevant stakeholders, and communication of lessons learned. Drive the proactive completion and documentation of safety interventions, promoting a preventative safety culture. Maintain and manage all EHS-related registers, records, and documentation; produce detailed reports and present findings to senior management when required. Support site teams in the development and dissemination of Toolbox Talks and EHS communications. Compile final safety file documentation for client handover at project completion. Embody and promote the company's commitment to a healthy, safe, and incident-free workplace. Requirements: Third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline is essential. Minimum of 6 years' experience in a senior EHS role, ideally with exposure to large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. Demonstrable track record in managing EHS systems, audits, and regulatory compliance. Strong working knowledge of relevant Irish EHS legislation and industry best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and problem-solving. Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a high level of competence in Excel. Skills: Construction Engineering Health & Safety
