The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure within a 24-hour facility. This position involves providing technical support, maintaining hardware and software, and assisting with IT projects as needed. Collaboration across departments is key to addressing IT-related issues and ensuring overall efficiency and productivity.As this is a 24-hour site, participation in a weekly and weekend on-call rotation will be required for 24-hour support.Job Title: IT AdministratorLocation: Longford, IrelandWork Mode: OnsiteKey ResponsibilitiesUser SupportProvide technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, network, and software issues.Manage the service desk, oversee ticketing systems, ensure timely resolution, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction (familiarity with ITIL practices is beneficial).Assist with onboarding and training of new employees on IT systems and processes.Hardware & Software ManagementMonitor and maintain computer hardware, networks, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.Conduct regular hardware upgrades and replacements as necessary.Install, configure, and update software applications, ensuring proper licensing and compliance.Network ManagementAssist in managing and troubleshooting local area networks (LAN) and wireless networks.Configure and troubleshoot issues with TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.Collaborate with the IT team to maintain network security and data integrity.Security & Data BackupImplement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data.Manage Microsoft Server environments, including server roles, configurations, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.Administer Hyper-V environments, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Perform regular data backups and replication using VEEAM, and test disaster recovery plans regularly.Documentation & Asset ManagementMaintain accurate records of IT equipment, software licenses, and configurations.Document IT-related procedures and end-user guides.Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance.Manage IT assets, including inventory control and tracking.Collaboration & ProjectsWork with cross-functional teams on IT-related projects and initiatives.Assist in the implementation of new IT systems and emerging technologies.Key Performance MeasuresReduction of out-of-hours (OOH) calls through effective RCA and process improvements.Documented and tested business continuity (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) plans.Adherence to housekeeping standards (daily/monthly checks, server/storage room cleanliness, audit readiness).Achieving Alloy SLA metric of 80% or higher.Competencies & QualificationsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving abilities.Well-organized with strong time management; ability to multitask under pressure.IT-related qualification and/or minimum of 3 years' experience in an IT administration role.
