Work Schedule: 35 hours Contract: Full Time Permanent Salary: €34,313- €48,240 Depending on Experience Reporting to: The post holder will be responsible to Crosscare Counselling Service Manager or nominated Deputy.
Role Overview
The Role: To provide key working, case management and care planning support to Ukrainian young people aged 12 to 24 who are experiencing problems with trauma substance use and mental health.
Also, to support the families of these young people.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, engage and work directly with Ukrainian young people and their families who are experiencing difficulties related to trauma, substance use and/or mental health.
Develop strategic partnerships with other agencies in the area.
Create avenues and structures for both therapeutic and practical support for Ukrainian parents and young people with an open‑door policy for families to re‑engage after disengaging.
Understand and prioritise Service User needs, taking account of the influence of family, culture, displacement, mental health, peer group, gender, and sexuality on beliefs and behaviours.
Facilitate therapeutic groups if appropriate.
Provide formal assessments, key working, family case conferences and care planning support to clients in relation to their difficulties.
Engage in interagency case management to support clients and other related services and attend case review meetings where appropriate.
Submit data, keep programme records and provide updates and reports as requested.
Take part in ongoing approved training to enhance outcomes for the client group.
Support a young person with referral pathways for trauma, mental health issues, substance misuse and preventing them from entering into the criminal justice system.
Notify child protection concerns in accordance with Children First Guidelines in consultation with Crosscare Designated Liaison Person.
Provide flexibility in practice as required: provision of new programmes and service initiatives and respond to crisis cases.
Work and promote the ethos and mission of Crosscare and uphold its values in all areas of work.
Observe the policies and procedures of the project and Crosscare.
Work within a team and provide out‑of‑hours support where needed.
Essential Requirements
Must speak the Ukrainian language.
Must hold a recognised 3rd Level qualification in Addiction / Social Care / Youth Work or a related field.
Must have a full driving licence and access to own transport.
Job Skills / Experience
Strong track record in community‑based programmes and in supporting strategic partnerships with other agencies.
Experience of interagency work.
High level of knowledge and experience of working with people with trauma.
Personal Skills / Attributes
Commitment to social justice and to treating people with dignity and respect.
Understanding of the principles of teamwork and the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Flexibility, good time management and a professional manner.
Knowledge and experience of using formal screening/assessment instruments, care planning & case management tools.
