Occupational Health Nurse Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the occupational health service to a high professional standard, ensuring compliance with legislative guidelines and maintaining accurate records of assessments and treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the occupational health service for employees to a high professional standard.
* Review pre-employment medical reports and liaise with occupational physicians on follow-up requirements.
* Conduct health assessments of employees to ascertain their fitness, advise on adaptations, and identify higher risk individuals.
* Provide advice and management on adaptations based on risk assessments and legislative guidelines.
* Liaise with nursing, infection control, quality manager, and other managers to ensure high standards of occupational health care.
Organisational/Advisory:
* Ensure adherence to health and safety policy and procedures.
* Establish procedures for recording referrals to occupational health issues.
* Observe confidentiality and security standards.
Education and Training:
* Participate in induction programmes for health service employees.
* Engage in performance review processes and personal development planning.
* Develop and implement employee health & well-being programmes.
* Deliver training and awareness programmes on occupational health and safety.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Registered in the General division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives.
* Minimum five years practical experience, three in occupational health.
* Post-graduate qualification in occupational health.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and research.
