This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Land Team in the delivery of land referencing, landowner engagement, consultation management, land access, formal consents, statutory orders, compensation agreements and land acquisition in support of strategic infrastructure development projects across Ireland and the UK.We support high-profile infrastructure projects across the Energy, Water, Road, Rail and Local Authority sectors such as the North South Interconnector, NM20, Dublin Metrolink, M17 and A5, as well as HS2. Many of our Energy projects are critical for the deployment of renewable energy, helping the Ireland economy to achieve net zero carbon emissions.We are the largest Land Referencing business in the UK and Ireland, with over 250 Land colleagues. As part of the WSP Land Team you will enjoy the support of multi-disciplinary colleagues in our Naas, Belfast and wider GB officesAssociate Land Consultant role…Lead a team of technical specialists to ensure successful delivery of projects on time, within budget and to high standardsBe a trusted advisor to clients (externally and internally) and manage relationshipsAdvise on Land issues within Ireland and UK, including the relevant statutory processes to acquire land including CPO, Motorway Order, Vesting Order, etcSecure land rights for high profile, strategic infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UKLiaise with landowners, auctioneers, land agents, legal representatives, planning authorities, key stakeholders, contractors and clientsWork closely with the Land team and collaborate with engineering, environmental, and planning teamsLead on quality assurance of deliverables in relation to the identification of land interests and rights, negotiation of access to land for surveys, consents and acquisition of land rights for large scale development projects, as well as land acquisition and planning applications.Promote Land services and contribute to business development across the electricity, highway, rail, water, telecoms, gas and renewable energy sectorsSupport the sharing of knowledge and lessons across regions and projectsDevelop efficient working practices and promote innovation in the team to provide industry leading, best value services to our clientsEnsure that the team has the necessary skills and resources to deliver successful projects and grow the businessManage, motivate, mentor and develop staff and contribute to the delivery of the business strategySupport the writing of bids/tenders to secure opportunities from internal and external clientsLead delivery of training on technical topicsIreland and UK travelWhat We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…Expertise in rural environment, property, communities and agricultural working practicesExperience working on infrastructure development schemes with multi-disciplinary teams across a range of sectors and locationsExperience of negotiating commercial terms with landowners and knowledge of the legal process for the acquisition of wayleaves and easementDemonstrable experience of reducing land risk for clients and advising them on land related matters throughout all stages of a project lifecycles.Proven track record of the development of Orders and/or acquisition of consents and interests in land, and knowledge of relevant legislationAbility to communicate effectively with strong influencing and negotiating skillsMotivated and able to work in a team and on own initiative, being able to work under pressure and deliver high quality outputsStrong landowner and public engagement skillsGood business and IT skillsExcellent adherence to quality assurance and good document management skillsA degree in Geography, Agriculture, Land and Estate Management or similarChartership or membership or a Professional body would be advantageous.A full drivers’ licence is essentialSenior Land Consultant role…Utilising statutory powers and other sectorsPreparation and quality assurance of technical documents in relation to the identification of land interests and rights, negotiation of access to land for surveys, consents and acquisition of land rightsNegotiation of Heads of Terms to secure land for projects.Liaising with landowners, land agents, auctioneers, legal representatives, planning authorities, key stakeholders, contractors and clientsWork closely with Land team colleagues and collaborate with engineering, environmental, and planning teamExperience in working with multi-disciplinary teams across a range of sectors and locations across Ireland and/or UKDevelop efficient working practices and promote innovation in the team to provide industry leading, best value services to our clientsManagement and development of a We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…Degree or equivalent experience in Geography, Land and Estate Management, Agriculture or a relevant disciplineWorked to deliver land referencing, land access, landowner engagement services and statutory processes on major infrastructure projectsExperience of negotiating with landowners and knowledge of the legal process for the acquisition of wayleaves/easements/servitudes desirableExperience working with multi-disciplinary teams across a range of sectors and locations across Ireland and/or UKDemonstrable experience of reducing land risk for clients and advising them on land related matters throughout all stages of a project lifecycles.Proven track record of the development of Orders and/or acquisition of consents and interests in land, and knowledge of relevant legislationExperience of infrastructure development schemes in particular the electricity, road, gas, rail and renewable energy sectorExcellent interpersonal skills, land referencing activities, including Ireland land registry searches on Tailte Éireann, desktop research, questionnaire analysis and archival investigations to identify legal land interests and rights in landAccurate data entry and management of land and landowner information and consultation records in databases and GISSite visits to landowners to confirm ownership details, agree access for surveysSupport Land Team in securing and acquiring appropriate land rights as well as negotiation of Heads of TermsSupport Land Team in preparation of Orders and relevant statutory processes to acquire landAttend and contribute to internal and external project meetingsWhat We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…A degree in geography or another relevant discipline, which has provided you with an understanding of the complexities of land-use and/or landownership in Ireland/UK.Experience of working with databases and managing information with excellent attention to detailExperience of working with mapping and knowledge of GISExperience of landowner engagement or working with members of the public.Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues,
