The role ensures consistent delivery standards nationwide, supports the development of the Coach Development workforce, and drives innovation and best practice in alignment with the FAI's strategic objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide operational leadership and coordination to the nationwide team of Coach Development Leads.Support the implementation of the Coach Development actions within the FAI's Education & Development Strategy.Oversee all aspects of course management, from programme planning through to delivery and completion.Support the integration, development, and ongoing implementation of the Learning Management System.Review and enhance course content, delivery approaches, and evaluation methods in collaboration with the Coach Development Manager.Monitor programme quality through data, feedback, and on-course observations to ensure high standards.Promote and implement innovation, continuous improvement, and modern learning methodologies across all coach development activity.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including clubs, leagues, and education partners.Represent the Coach Development Department at national events, workshops, and meetings.Prepare reports, performance metrics, and insights to support strategic planning, resource allocation, and departmental decision-making.Person SpecificationA collaborative and proactive leader with a passion for coach development.A strong communicator with the ability to motivate, mentor, and support a dispersed workforce.Detail-oriented, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes across all areas of responsibility.Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment with competing priorities.Experience and QualificationsEssential:UEFA Elite Youth A Licence (or currently enrolled in the course).QQI Level 7 Coach Developer Award.MSc in Sports Coaching or equivalent qualification.Proven experience in coach development, football development, mentoring or similar roles.Demonstrated leadership capability, ideally with experience coordinating a dispersed team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results to a high standard.Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.Desirable:Experience working within a National Association or sports governing body.Experience in programme evaluation and data-informed decision making.Familiarity with digital learning platforms and blended education delivery.Skills & Professional KnowledgeStrong leadership and people management skills.Excellent organisational and planning capability.Knowledge of modern coach education principles, methodologies, and best practice.Ability to analyse data, evaluate programme effectiveness, and identify improvements.Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.High standard of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to continuous improvement.Leadership & people management Communication & collaborationStrategic thinking & problem solvingQuality & standards focusCompetenciesCore Competencies1.
