Automation Technology Analyst Job Description

At our global site for new small molecule API products, we are seeking an Automation Technology Analyst to join our Digital Site Network team. This role will provide implementation support and expert technical guidance for various projects and day-to-day digital plant operations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for effective documentation preparation and reviews ensuring conformance to all standards, quality policies, and cGMP requirements. They will also lead specific site projects and participate in broader digital teams implementing global standard solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the Digital Site Network Team in building strong partnerships with key stakeholders that increases the understanding of business needs and works towards maximizing the value of our digital investments at the site.
* Provide expert (Level 3) Digital technology support and apply site-specific knowledge to address incidents associated with manufacturing automation systems, laboratory systems, and other GMP systems.
* Troubleshoot and problem-solve IT issues directly or by engaging vendor support.
* Act as the subject matter expert for site Digital automation technology support.
* Ensure adherence to industry cybersecurity architecture principles and applications.
* Engage with the business to identify and define scope for continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assist or lead these initiatives to deliver value by improving the efficiency of processes and systems at the site.
* Support/lead global Pfizer Digital project deployments and global digital related continuous improvement initiatives at the site.
* Ensure effective communication takes place throughout any project lifecycle.
* Support the Digital Site Lead in the ongoing management of business systems, Plan of Record, and systems/service portfolio.
* Ensure that all relevant equipment and facilities are maintained in a GMP-compliant state.
* Coordinate site infrastructure tasks by liaising with global platform teams, project teams, and Colleague Services.
* Provide infrastructure hosting expertise for application teams.
* Provide technical hardware, operating system, and business-as-usual support of manufacturing/lab area devices to include system security patching, change control processes, and site GMP requirements as necessary.
* Provide estimated project budget costs for upgrades and system enhancements when necessary.
* Ensure planned maintenance tasks and activities as well as backup strategies for plant digital supported systems are performing as expected.
* Review all site-relevant digital change requests for GMP systems, servers, networks, databases, middleware, firewalls, etc.
* Prepare and update IT asset, quality, and GMP documentation as necessary.
* Liaise with the Pfizer Global Technology, Engineering & Launch (GTEL) and Research & Development (R&D) teams for local infrastructure requirements and associated technology tasks.
* Support the ATA Team across the EMEA Digital Site Network – provide backup to other team members.
* Participate in the 24x5 on-call duty system for high-priority critical Pfizer Global Supply tickets providing problem-solving skills and site-specific knowledge as needed.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor of Science Degree within a related technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology Systems, or Engineering.
2. 2+ years experience in manufacturing or technical support service areas, preferably in the Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical industry.
3. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English required.
4. Knowledge of the following is an advantage:
* Project Management methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Agile).
* Software development lifecycle methodologies.
* GMP and associated regulatory requirements.
* IT service management (e.g. ITIL).
* Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and networking.
* Continuous improvement problem-solving techniques (e.g. Six Sigma).

11. Knowledge of technology policies and processes with an ability to develop new procedures for future implementations.
12. Knowledge of Automation and Laboratory processes and technologies used to support manufacturing.
13. Curiosity to learn and to adapt new digital automation technologies and processes.
14. Ability to work towards departmental objectives on own initiative with minimal supervision.
15. Adaptable to changing priorities and assignments per business demands.
