Overview
The 1:1 School Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the nursing process and delivering individualized student care within the school environment. This role ensures that all services are provided in alignment with physician orders and in accordance with the standards, policies, and philosophy of both the School District and Amergis Healthcare.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the nursing process and deliver individualized student care within the school environment
* Ensure services align with physician orders and district/Amergis policies
* Provide medical oversight and emergency support during student transportation (bus run)
Qualifications
* Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) where practicing
* One year of school nursing experience, preferred
* Pediatric experience, preferred
* Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
* Current CPR if applicable
* TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
* Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
* Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
* Must be at least 18 years of age
General Details
* Role: RN – Bus Run Support
* Schedule: Morning 6:15 AM – approx. 9:00 AM (day/afternoon split); Afternoon 1:30 PM – approx. 3:45 PM
* Days: Monday through Friday
* Student Coverage: Bus run includes students from three schools; end times may vary based on daily ridership
* Start Date: Assignment begins ASAP, pending receipt of medical orders and care plan
* Medical Needs: Supporting a student with a seizure disorder
* Must be trained to administer a nasal rescue medication
* Duration: School year position with potential for year-round work, including summer programming (TBD)
* Role: Provide medical oversight and emergency support during student transportation
