On behalf of our Research client in Dublin, we are hiring a Project Officer on an 11 month contract.
The Project Officer will be assigned to the Targeted Programmes portfolio within the Unit which supports research aimed at addressing strategic priorities of the Irish Health and Social Care system and facilitates evidence informed policy and practice, through both targeted initiatives and open competitive funding schemes.
Essential knowledge and experience
Formal requirements include:
The successful candidates must have a minimum of a NFQ Level 9 qualification (Masters / Post Graduate Diploma) with at least three year’s appropriate research / professional experience in a relevant area.
Research experience is essential, but it is important to note that this is an administrative role and not a research role.
Desirable requirements include:
Prior experience in research funding.
High degree of computer literacy, including knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and experience of databases.
A Project Officer in the HRB will interact closely with the academic and healthcare research community and should therefore have a strong interest in and understanding of these environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge of research management, governance, funding, evaluation and policy issues
Knowledge of national health research, and of the Irish academic and health services environment
