The RoleReporting to the Policy, the Policy & Research Officer will play a key role in delivering research and policy work focused affordability and accessibility for residents in Northern Ireland.The role contributes to wider work areas including EU Exit impacts, household expenditure, online harms, and evolving consumer trends.This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong research, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills who is passionate about influencing policy and improving outcomes for the public.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the delivery of strategic objectives set out in the Corporate PlanPlan, commission, and manage research projects with external suppliers in line with public sector procurement requirementsUndertake data analysis and interpret findings to inform policy developmentEnsure all research outputs are of publishable standard for reportsAnalyse and present complex data in a clear, accessible format for a range of audiencesProduce high-quality reports, briefings, and written outputsSupport policy impact analysis relating to emerging markets and consumer issuesEngage regularly with stakeholders to monitor developments in food affordability and accessibilityConduct horizon scanning to identify emerging issues and trendsRepresent the organisation at events, meetings, and forumsBuild and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholdersPrepare presentations, briefings, and speaking notes for senior staffSupport external communications and engagement activitySupport wider Directorate and organisational priorities as requiredContribute to collaborative team working and continuous improvementThe PersonEssential CriteriaExperience working in a policy-related roleKnowledge of public sector processes or consumer policy issuesExperience presenting research findings to a range of audiencesExperience planning, commissioning, and managing research projectsStrong report writing and proofreading skillsExperience analysing, interpreting, and presenting dataExcellent organisational and time management skillsExperience in stakeholder engagement and networkingProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong communication skills, both written and verbalPackage & BenefitsContract: Until March 2027Location: Belfast (hybrid working available)Hours: Full-time, standard office hoursCompetitive salary (dependent on experience)Opportunity to influence public policy and make a tangible impactCollaborative and supportive working environmentProfessional development opportunitiesHow to ApplyTo apply for this role, submit your CV via the application form provided.
