Your new company is a leading organisation within the utilities industry. They are committed to growth, innovation, and sustainability, which remains a top priority. They now require an Internal Communications Lead to join their team in Cork on a permanent basis.
Your new role
The role involves supporting the Corporate Affairs Directorate in strengthening the organization's reputation and achieving strategic and business outcomes. Responsibilities include providing strategic communications advice, focusing efforts on target audiences and channels, and ensuring measurable outcomes. The role also encompasses consulting with stakeholders, providing internal communications advice, driving alignment to strategy and brand, overseeing leadership visibility programs, managing crisis communications, developing communication channels and materials, and building employee communications capability. Additionally, the role involves managing relationships with third-party consultants, collaborating with internal stakeholders, delivering integrated communications, championing collaboration, managing demand and capacity, ensuring adherence to processes and governance, implementing digital communications strategies, escalating issues as needed, and supporting strategic project delivery. Coaching and managing direct reports, promoting health and safety, and working cross-functionally are also key aspects. Some travel and out-of-hours attendance may be required.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate should have demonstrable experience working across integrated communications teams in various disciplines. While a minimum of five years' experience in the utilities or similar regulated industries is desirable, it is not essential. A relevant third-level qualification or accreditation in communications-related disciplines, as well as technical, engineering, or environmental fields, is beneficial. The candidate must be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They should have a proven track record of dealing with complex issues proactively and in a timely manner, along with the ability to communicate information effectively. The role requires a highly motivated and adaptable individual who works to the highest professional standards and has a proven ability to deliver results within an agile team.
