About EY Entrepreneur Of The Year
EOY is a programme that supports, advises, and connects a community of entrepreneurs, and champions entrepreneurship across the island of Ireland. It is part of a global programme run by EY in over 60 countries. The EOY team is a small, high-performing team working closely with Ireland’s top entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial businesses.
Connecting: The Alumni community is the core strength, with many entrants citing the value of peer support and collaboration (75% do business together). We design initiatives to engage Alumni, such as the annual CEO Retreat to a global destination. Supporting, advising: We help entrepreneurs address real business challenges faced in Ireland. Championing entrepreneurship: We celebrate Ireland’s successful entrepreneurs through traditional and digital media, partnerships, and government outreach.
Key responsibilities
* Programme implementation – Nominations through to final judging; attendance at nominee interviews and reporting on each company’s business model and founder story
* Event management – Logistical and organisational support for value-add events for finalists and alumni (e.g., CEO Retreat, Ireland Day Retreat, EOY Event Series, Meet the Judges Day, EOY Gala Awards, webinars)
* Communications – Branding/Media; production of marketing materials; social media management; coordination with EY’s communications team
* EOY team collaboration – Input ideas and highlight opportunities for improvement; multi-tasking in a fast-paced team
All four parts are covered in detail below. The successful candidate reports to the Programme Managers and works closely with the Partner Lead.
Ideal candidate
* Be comfortable multi-tasking and prioritising multiple projects to tight deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with senior stakeholders, including CEOs and EY leadership
* Demonstrate passion, initiative, strategic thinking, and attention to detail
* Be hardworking, a team player, and willing to take on ad hoc tasks
