Context
The NEC4 Project Manager will support the administration of Design and Build Contracts for project delivery, including managing payments, schedules, and compensation events. The role involves overseeing risk management via mechanisms like the NEC early warning system and ensuring all contractual communications are issued appropriately. The Project Manager will act in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
Main Duties
- Assist the Project Management team and the Design and Technical Services Lead in establishing and leading the Site Level Project Operations, providing strategic direction and managing the team effectively.
- Develop detailed financial and resource plans for the Scheme, overseeing daily activities of CP staff to ensure project success.
- Serve as a liaison between Site Level and CBCIW Core Level, promoting knowledge transfer between CP staff and client personnel.
- Coordinate all relevant reporting to the PMO and adhere to governance requirements.
- Ensure the performance of CP personnel within the Project Operations area, fostering continuous improvement and best practices.
Profile/Skills
- Extensive project management experience, particularly in high-value road and infrastructure projects, covering the full project lifecycle.
- Desirable additional experience includes delivering engineering solutions in urban environments, fostering collaborative team cultures, advising on procurement and contracts, tendering, contract documentation, and administration, understanding Works Information (NEC3) / Scope (NEC4), managing variations and compensation events, and on-site project delivery in urban settings.
- Experience with NEC4 and chartered status (IEI, ICE, or equivalent) is desirable.
