Role Purpose
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, this is a customer-oriented support role centred on providing basic to advanced technical support for end user desktop, laptop, mobile device, applications and peripheral installation, configuration and issues. This is a technologically proficient individual open to interact with users live or through other digital communication methods to provide guidance, troubleshooting and issue resolution. The IT Support Engineer's ability to deliver on and resolve technology requests, tasks, and projects is an important part of this position.
A good understanding and working experience managing and supporting an IT Helpdesk, IT infrastructure, systems, servers, networks, security, computers, mobile devices, technology products and software combined with problem solving abilities to diagnose and resolve issues are important criteria to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
Work with larger Shared Services team providing support to HRI and its in scope subsidiaries and entities users for the following systems :
Microsoft 365
WAN & LAN networks
Firewalls
VMWare & Windows Server
Windows 10/11 - support and deployment
OS and Software patching
Varied business applications
Ensure best practice is followed as it relates to IT security though out the HRI network.
Support and maintenance of the Local and Wide area networks as required
Provide if required out-of-hours support and travel between locations as required
Research, source and implement software/hardware solutions when required
Skills And Experience
IT Degree qualified or equivalent.
At least 3 -5 years' experience as a computer technician or similar role.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Good communication skills and thorough knowledge of computer system and IT components. Experience with LAN/WAN networks.
Ability to problem solve and promote best practices in IT.
Excellent organisational skills and experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously, in a time sensitive environment.
