Project Director – Data Centre Construction (Electrical Focus) | EuropeLead Group Ireland is currently seeking a highly experienced Project Director with a strong electrical background to join a leading international engineering company expanding its Data Centre operations across Europe. This is a senior leadership role for an individual with deep expertise in electrical infrastructure for mission-critical facilities and a proven ability to deliver complex Data Centre projects at scale.The Project Director will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of large, technically complex Data Centre projects, with particular accountability for the electrical design, construction, commissioning, and integration of critical power systems. You will work directly with Data Centre clients to ensure electrical resilience, redundancy, and compliance with international standards.Key Responsibilities & Electrical Project Experience:Lead the delivery of large-scale Data Centre projects with a strong emphasis on electrical systems, including HV/LV infrastructure, substations, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, busbar systems, and power distributionProvide senior technical oversight of electrical design coordination, ensuring alignment with client standards, redundancy requirements (N, N+1, 2N), and operational resilienceManage and coordinate electrical contractors, specialist vendors, and commissioning teams across multiple project phasesOversee electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and energisation of mission-critical power systems, including phased and live-site environmentsAct as the primary senior interface with Data Centre clients on all electrical and critical power mattersEnsure strict compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards across European jurisdictionsDrive programme, cost, risk, and change management with a clear understanding of the electrical critical pathPromote best practices in electrical safety, quality assurance, and system reliabilityExperience & Qualifications Required:Extensive experience delivering Data Centre construction and fit-out projects, with a strong focus on electrical infrastructureProven track record of leading large, multi-million-euro, electrically complex projects in a senior leadership roleStrong technical background with in-depth knowledge of critical power systems and Data Centre electrical architectureExperience working directly with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise Data Centre clients, particularly on electrical scope and commissioning requirementsDegree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering disciplineExcellent leadership, stakeholder management, and technical communication skillsAbility to operate at both strategic and hands-on technical levels in fast-paced project environmentsThis role offers an opportunity to play a key leadership role in delivering highly resilient, mission-critical electrical infrastructure for Data Centres across Europe, within a rapidly growing engineering organisation.
