Job Title: Football Programme Leader
The role of the Football Programme Leader is a key leadership position within our football academy, responsible for delivering and driving the success of our Transition Year (TY) football and education programme.
This is more than a coaching role – the leader will act as a mentor, driver of growth, and upholder of high standards in football development, player welfare, and professional culture at all times.
* Lead daily TY football delivery with high-quality, structured coaching sessions.
* Collaborate with teaching and athletic development staff to align education, football, and player development.
* Monitor, assess, and report on player progress across technical, tactical, physical, and personal development.
* Oversee Junior Academy, camps, clinics, and community initiatives in the region.
* Ensure consistent delivery of our philosophy and methodology across all programmes.
* Support recruitment of players for TY, Junior Academy, and other initiatives.
* Act as a role model and mentor for coaches, players, and interns.
* Provide guidance and support to assistant coaches, ensuring quality control and staff development.
* Contribute to internal coach education pathways.
* Proactively identify opportunities to expand programmes across schools, clubs, and community partners.
* Support organisation and delivery of tournaments, tours, and events.
Requirements:
A strong background in youth coaching and player development is required. Experience managing teams, programmes, or projects beyond coaching is essential.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills are necessary to inspire both players and staff.
* Organisation, drive, and commitment to our vision of becoming Ireland's leading football academy are expected.
* A growth mindset and eagerness to take initiative to scale the academy in Cork and beyond are ideal qualities.
