The Job
We are currently working with a leading regulated manufacturing company in Athlone, Co. Westmeath to hire a Warehouse Shipping Coordinator to join their team. This position will support the day-to-day operations of a busy warehouse and shipping function. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient movement of finished goods, raw materials, components, and non-inventory items while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and customer service within a GMP-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the smooth daily operation of warehouse shipping activities, including collections, deliveries, and storage management across internal and external warehouse locations.
Arrange and manage transport requirements for shipments, collections, and customer deliveries in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Prepare and manage weekly shipping schedules, monitoring and adjusting plans to meet changing business needs.
Liaise with external service providers and internal departments to coordinate pre- and post-processing shipments and ensure order fulfilment requirements are met.
Manage the picking, packing, and dispatch of customer and spare part orders while ensuring products are protected from damage or deterioration during transit.
Process inventory transactions accurately within the warehouse management or ERP system.
Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate, compliant, and meets customer and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and update shipping, consolidation, and operational reports on a regular basis.
Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, ISO quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on compliance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Handle customer and internal stakeholder queries relating to shipments, transport services, and shipping processes in a professional and customer-focused manner.
Requirements
A qualification in logistics, supply chain, or a related discipline would be advantageous.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy, high-volume warehouse or logistics environment.
Experience in shipping, customs, imports/exports, or dangerous goods regulations would be highly beneficial.
Experience working within a manufacturing or regulated environment is an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle or similar platforms is desirable.
Good understanding of inventory control and warehouse material flow processes.
Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, or pallet trucks is advantageous; training can be provided.
