Role Overview
The General Manager will lead the overall operations of the Cork facility, driving performance across production, logistics, customer service, and commercial activities.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering on financial targets, operational excellence, and strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Develop and execute the site's business plan in alignment with the company's overall strategy.
Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional management team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.
Act as the key decision-maker on-site, balancing operational efficiency with customer satisfaction.
Operational Management
Oversee production, packaging, and warehousing operations to ensure optimum utilisation of resources.
Implement best-in-class processes to maximise productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Financial & Commercial Performance
Manage the site P&L, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Monitor and control costs to achieve profitability targets.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, supporting commercial negotiations and driving new business opportunities.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Introduce lean principles and data-driven decision-making to enhance operational performance.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and employee engagement.
Identify opportunities for service innovation and diversification.
Key Requirements
Experience & Background
10+ years' experience in senior operational roles, ideally including experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a related service environment.
Proven track record of managing P&L and delivering sustainable growth.
Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
Skills & Competencies
Strategic thinker with hands-on operational management skills.
Commercially astute with strong financial and business acumen.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
Strong focus on health & safety, compliance, and quality assurance.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (advantageous).
