Post **** - Senior Quality Scientist Dublin(NBC) Post **** - Senior Quality Assurance Scientist Red Cell Immunohematology Laboratory Department Full Time Temporary FTC (1 Year) National Blood Centre, Dublin 8 The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, temporary Senior Quality Assurance Scientist based in the Red Cell Immunohematology Laboratory, National Blood Centre.
The successful candidate will actively manage the QMS within the RCI laboratory including, the investigation, review and management of Incident Reports, the review and management of Change Orders and Change Controls, participate in writing and updating of laboratory documentation as determined by the laboratory management team.
The candidate will also participate in leading a team of skilled staff, creating and promoting healthy working relationships.
Essential Criteria Education/Experience: A Bachelors degree (Level 8) in a relevant scientific discipline (or equivalent).
Experience working in quality assurance and/or within a biological, medical or quality control laboratory, in a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment.
At least two years experience in a quality-focused role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Good IT skills and competent in using laboratory and quality management systems.
Experience of working in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g. GMP).
The ability to support, guide and train colleagues as part of a team.
Familiarity with laboratory accreditation or quality standards (e.g. ISO *****, ISO ***** or ISO *****).
Desirable Criteria: A Masters (MSc) degree in a relevant scientific discipline (or equivalent).
Knowledge or experience in red cell immunohematology, including antibody investigations, blood group anomalies or compatibility testing (beneficial but not essential).
A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving, with the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a busy environment.A strong commitment to quality, accuracy and continuous improvement.
Flexibility and adaptability, with a positive, enthusiastic approach to working in a demand-driven service.
The salary scale attached to the post is the Senior Laboratory Scientist salary scale €61,218 to €81,868 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum.
Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience.
