Our organization is seeking a skilled front office application support engineer to join its fast-paced team.
The Role
This position sits at the core of trading operations, supporting and optimizing mission-critical high-performance front office systems.
You will work closely with traders, quants, software engineers, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance across European trading platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary support contact for traders and quants, ensuring optimal performance of front office trading applications.
* Collaborate with technology teams to enhance application stability, scalability, and efficiency.
* Monitor and manage server environments across multiple European co-location sites.
* Maintain and enhance batch scheduling systems and monitoring tools.
* Troubleshoot complex application/system issues using log analysis and diagnostics tools.
* Proactively implement monitoring and alerting solutions to preempt system outages.
* Lead infrastructure and environment-related projects such as hardware refreshes and new software deployments.
Required Technical Skills
* Proficiency in managing networked application systems (Windows Server 2012/2019, databases).
* Scripting capabilities in Python, PowerShell, or Windows Batch.
* Strong troubleshooting abilities using logs, system tracing, and network diagnostics.
* Familiarity with batch scheduling tools and monitoring systems (e.g., Splunk, Check_mk).
* Technical degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
