Role Overview
Amarenco is seeking a Project Developer for its office in Cork, Ireland. The Project Developer will drive the development of ground‑mounted photovoltaic power plants and storage projects to Ready‑to‑Build (RTB) status, achieving milestones such as permitting, grid connection, land management, and energy sales. The role demands strong analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills, with deep expertise in renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
Progress the Portfolio of Project Ireland through all development stages according to schedule, budget and quality, safety & environmental standards.
Coordinate the work of a multi‑disciplinary project team.
Ensure compliance with internal processes, standards and reporting requirements.
Monitor and analyse the project’s economic indicators throughout development.
Participate in signing the project lease with landowners.
Apply project management techniques, including risk & opportunity management.
Manage relationships with third‑party advisors, service providers and contractors.
Engage with external stakeholders such as landowners, local authorities, system operators & regulators to de‑risk project delivery.
Support colleagues in EPC contractor procurement, project financing and contract negotiation.
Participate in the evaluation of projects/portfolios during external acquisition phases (M&A).
Participate in sector associations and professional working groups.
Participate in project reviews and steering committees.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of proven experience in renewable energy project development.
Advanced project management skills.
Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies such as solar PV and energy storage.
Good understanding of sustainability principles, environmental impacts and energy regulations.
Familiarity with the agricultural sector is a plus.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of managing multiple projects at various stages of development.
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders—including internal teams, landowners, and public institutions—while advocating for your projects.
