Elusav Recruitment have an opportunity for a Fire Protection Construction Manager with a leading European engineering contractor based in Limerick. As the Construction Manager you will own the project execution for the fire protection systems and report to the Operations Manager, setting specific goals for your elements of the project that align with the overall project objectives.
Responsibilities
* Establish the detailed scope for this project.
* Manage project changes with a verifiable paper trail.
* Own all scope related to fire protection on this project.
* Ensure work is planned and executed in alignment with the programme schedule, with the right people in the right place at the right time.
* Work with the design team to ensure materials, designs and equipment are available ahead of need.
* Drive weekly and daily work plans.
* Ensure all changes are costed and approved before work commences.
* Collaborate with the planning department to develop a schedule meeting the client’s needs and deliver milestones ahead of schedule.
* Understand the scope in detail and have a thorough understanding of the design.
* Clarify design deliverables and ensure design schedules are met in coordination with the Client, Main Contractor and Design department.
* Own the Fire Protection Team’s schedule and work with planners to develop a Last Planner level of detail.
* Ensure foremen and supervisors understand change processes and that changes are managed accordingly.
* Manage hours allocation to achieve a maximum S/E of 0.95.
* Manage and control internal and external project reporting, including updating S-Curves for progress reporting.
* Aim for greater than 99% first-time right across all works.
* Ensure all personnel have the required training to deliver project requirements and align with IFW on site.
* Model safety in all aspects of work and lead by example through the leadership team.
* Demonstrate project controls knowledge across start-up, ramp, execution, ramp-down, and change control.
* Report quality and safety indicators in line with programme indicators and reflect performance of foremen and supervisors.
* Promote effective people/team skills, delegation, and collaboration; understand basic financial concepts to manage project finances and relationships.
Qualifications/Requirements
* 5–7 years of experience with a recognised contractor and multi-disciplinary construction teams.
* A trade and/or relevant third-level qualification in mechanical discipline.
* Sprinkler and fire protection experience is required.
* Experience delivering construction projects in specialised industrial sectors including Life Sciences, Pharma, Mission Critical & Datacentres, etc.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety.
* Proven ability to contribute to the development of project implementation for construction projects.
