An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 senior and motivated Senior Child Protection Nurse Advisors (SCPNA) to join our Child Protection Nursing Team on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time, Fife‑wide post covering community and hospital settings across Fife.
About the Service
The Child Protection Service strives to shape and support a culture of learning and continuous improvement in child protection, supporting and empowering a health workforce that feels confident and competent to protect and promote the well‑being of children and young people. The team works collaboratively with a wide range of health services and multi‑agency partners to achieve national standards that improve outcomes for children, young people, and their families/carers.
Responsibilities
Provide senior clinical leadership, supervision and decision‑making in child protection nursing.
Work independently and collaboratively with complex situations to ensure Fife’s commitment to protecting children is adhered to.
Support professional development, quality improvement work and specialist training within the team.
Qualifications & Experience
Excellent working knowledge of policy and legislation that guides child protection practice in Scotland.
Experience of working within Child Protection services and/or with vulnerable children and families.
Strong leadership, supervisory, decision‑making and communication skills; organised, self‑motivated, proactive and confident.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing complex situations.
Requirements
Current employment with NHS Fife.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
Right to work in the United Kingdom.
