Summary
The Equipment Reliability Engineer is a key role in ensuring the site delivers improved line performance and enhances maintenance effectiveness.
This role reports to the maintenance organization and is central to the site's journey towards world-class maintenance. A primary responsibility is to assess recurring breakdowns and line performance issues, implement solutions to eliminate root causes, and leverage HPS tools to sustain high-performing equipment.
The role involves close collaboration with the maintenance team and utilizing expertise across onsite functions and the wider Hollister network.
Responsibilities
Utilize line performance data weekly and monthly to identify trends and root causes of equipment failures; develop and implement solutions accordingly.
Use external maintenance benchmarks (e.g., AMIS) to assess site strengths and weaknesses; collaborate with management to develop strategies to address gaps.
Act as a coach/mentor to enhance reliability engineering capabilities across maintenance and manufacturing teams.
Assess maintenance costs to identify waste and develop cost-reduction solutions.
Evaluate process and technical data, literature, and work with support functions for process understanding.
Lead the implementation of HPS tools, particularly in preventive maintenance, TPM, and QCO.
Develop and enforce asset operation and maintenance plans to optimize asset utilization and efficiency.
Ensure asset ABC analysis is current and accurate.
Promote proactive maintenance approaches using risk assessment tools like FMEA and Reliability-Based Maintenance.
Support Operator Asset Care principles to address performance issues early.
Support CMMS system use, including training and standardization.
Engage with the wider Hollister network to share best practices and support site improvements.
Apply life cycle asset management (LCAM) processes and conduct root cause failure analysis.
Collaborate with process and project engineering to review maintenance and installation plans for new equipment, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
Act as backup to Maintenance Supervisor when needed.
Work Experience Required
Minimum 3+ years in a similar industry role.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Role
Proficiency in IT and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
Skills
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and implement solutions successfully.
Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of safety and quality regulatory requirements.
Results-driven with target and metric focus.
