Principal Legal Officer Salary: £29.55 p/h Location: Belfast Hours: 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri / 37 hours per week Duration: Temporary ongoing Job Summary: To provide advice and representation to client departments, in particular the Department of Education, the Parole Commissioners for NI, and the Health and Safety Executive NI in litigation in the High Court and County Court, Judicial Review Court and Court of Appeal.
To provide advice and representation in Insolvency proceedings before the Bankruptcy Master or Chancery Court.
To work collaboratively with clients and Counsel to draft pleadings, compile affidavits and exhibit bundles, attend client consultations, advocacy as required, and generally provide a high quality litigation service to clients in line with Service Level Agreement requirements.
To support the work of the Assistant Director as part of an agile and responsive legal team.
To participate in Litigation Division's out of hours rota.
Essential Criteria: Qualified solicitor or barrister, entitled to practice in NI.
Minimum of 3 or more years post-qualification experience.
Have three years' professional experience of delivering a litigation service to clients.
Have at least one year's experience of conducting insolvency proceedings.
