Vickerstock Recruitment are delighted to be working with a specialist civil and infrastructure contractor to recruit an Operations Manager to take a lead role in the delivery of renewable energy and data centre projects across Ireland and mainland Europe.
This company has a proven track record delivering complex civil engineering projects within the energy and infrastructure sectors, including Battery Energy Storage (BESS), solar, and onshore wind developments across Ireland, along with large-scale data centre schemes in Sweden and Germany.
With continued growth across these markets, they are now seeking an experienced Operations Manager to drive performance and delivery across multiple projects.
Your new role as Operations Manager
As Operations Manager, you'll take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operational performance of projects – ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
You'll act as the link between site operations and senior management, embedding structure, accountability, and consistency across the business.
You will be responsible for:
Managing operational delivery across renewable energy (BESS, solar, wind) and data centre projects
Taking ownership of assigned projects from mobilisation through to handover
Ensuring clear programmes, resourcing plans, and progress tracking are in place for each site
Leading weekly project reviews focused on progress, risk, resourcing, and cost control
Supporting Site Managers and Supervisors in planning, sequencing and client liaison
Collaborating with Commercial, Planning and H&S teams to protect margin, mitigate risk, and maintain high standards
Overseeing plant utilisation, logistics and maintenance coordination
Providing structured leadership and guidance to site teams, ensuring safety and productivity remain top priorities
Maintaining robust reporting practices – progress dashboards, issue logs and operational KPIs
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum 7 years' experience managing civil, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects
Proven record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget
Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills
Commercially aware and confident managing budgets, variations, and resourcing
A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment
Willingness to travel across Ireland and Europe as required
