Job Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a residential facility, ensuring compliance with legal and child protection standards.
This is a Monday to Friday role with an On-Call flexibility required. The Person in Charge (PIC) plays a vital role in ensuring the provision of high-quality, safe, and supportive care to children.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Providing strong leadership to staff, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture;
* Supervising and supporting staff, ensuring ongoing professional development;
* Implementing policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain a high standard of care;
* Monitoring and evaluating staff performance, attendance, and service delivery;
* Managing staff rotas to ensure the physical, social, and emotional care of residents and effective running of the service;
* Participating in the planning and implementation of training, including induction training for new staff;
* Ensuring behavioural support mechanisms are invoked if required;
* Promoting the values of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, and rights for young persons;
* Overseeing the day-to-day running of the centre, including security, hygiene, and maintenance;
* Collaborating with local schools, community groups, transport providers, and healthcare providers;
* Developing and implementing programs that support young persons' education, life skills, and social integration;
* Supporting residents in their transition to long-term accommodation or reunification with family;
* Attending meetings as required by senior management.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with experience in managing and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
* Leadership and management experience in a social care setting;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders;
* Strong organisational and time management skills;
* Experience in staff supervision, development, and training.
