Morgan McKinley is partnering with a key client in the supply chain and manufacturing sector seeking a Principal Trade & Compliance Specialist to join their team. This is a global organisation role focused on compliance, managing freight and trade operations, and supporting strategic and tactical supply chain initiatives.
As Principal Trade & Compliance Specialist, you will work with cross-functional teams providing hands-on and strategic support in freight, customs, and trade compliance. You will lead initiatives that strengthen governance, optimise logistics, and ensure adherence to international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and continuously improve all aspects of Freight, Duty, Customs, and Trade Compliance.
* Provide strategic and tactical direction to the supply chain team, ensuring compliance, continuity, and logistics security.
* Develop and implement strategies and operational plans that align with site and corporate objectives.
* Manage inbound and outbound freight logistics, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
* Oversee Freight & Duty budgets and drive cost optimisation initiatives.
* Audit and manage service providers to ensure performance against agreed SLAs and compliance with business goals.
* Maintain robust Customs & Duty controls and reporting.
* Ensure effective Trade Compliance governance and alignment with EU and international regulations.
* Collaborate with external agencies, industry groups, and internal peers to share best practices.
* Support and deliver on assigned project plans and milestones.
About You
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Trade/Logistics, with strong expertise in import/export administration.
* Hands-on knowledge of HS classification, customs valuation, and country of origin requirements.
* Awareness or experience with AEO accreditation / Inward Processing (advantageous but not essential).
* Strong ability to identify and resolve import/export challenges across systems, suppliers, and service providers.
* Previous experience in customs operations, trade compliance, or freight forwarding.
* Proficiency in SAP or equivalent MRP systems.
* Strong knowledge of Irish, EU, and international customs regulations.
