Reports to: Financial Reporting Manager
The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.
Key responsibilities:
* Bookkeep a complex range of funds, portfolio companies, and associated fund structures, liaising with clients and intermediaries as necessary to meet client deliverables such as NAV reporting.
* Complete all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of fund structures, including processing/reviewing daily postings of loans, general accounting of expenses/income, preparing and reconciling statutory financial statements, and handling ad-hoc investor queries.
* Maintain accurate records on the accounting system eFront FIA for all required financial statement line items.
* Review daily/weekly bank reconciliations, ensuring both loan and GL transactions are up to date, and provide supporting documentation for transactions.
* Address routine audit queries and requests.
* Manage client communications regarding daily operations for assigned entities.
* Enhance technical knowledge of Private Credit/Debt instruments, including reconciling loan processing transactions to the GL TB.
* Assist managers with complex transactions such as loan advances, repayments, and OIDs.
* Prepare accounting deliverables periodically, such as consolidation packs and stand-alone reporting packs.
* Mentor junior staff members under the supervision of the fund accountant.
Skills, knowledge, and expertise:
* Relevant degree in accounting or finance (bachelor's or master's preferred).
* Part-qualified with a relevant professional qualification (preferably having started ACCA Professional or ACA Advanced level).
* Excellent interpersonal skills to develop close working relationships with colleagues.
* Strong technical financial services experience, supported through the Aztec Academy.
* Proficiency in computer literacy is essential.
Distinct advantages:
* Experience in loan administration/accounting (e.g., PIK, cash interest).
* Experience with eFront.
* Knowledge of private credit/debt instruments or loan processing systems such as Sentry, Solvas, and WSO.
Training will be provided both in-house for relevant technical knowledge and for professional qualifications to enhance your accounting skills. The ability to quickly learn new systems and excellent people skills are highly valued, as we prioritize close working relationships with colleagues, clients, and contacts.
