About the role:
The Business Services Director is a new role in the Flogas Energy business and reflects the importance of Digital and IT in supporting the growth ambitions of Flogas Energy with world-class solutions and platforms. It is also a recognition that the Energy/Utilities business line has a dedicated industry-specific focus that is different to LPG. The role is part of the Energy Leadership Team and reports directly to the Managing Director of Flogas Energy and has a dotted-line report to the Flogas Group IT Director.
About the role:
The Business Services Director is a new role in the Flogas Energy business and reflects the importance of Digital and IT in supporting the growth ambitions of Flogas Energy with world-class solutions and platforms. It is also a recognition that the Energy/Utilities business line has a dedicated industry-specific focus that is different to LPG. The role is part of the Energy Leadership Team and reports directly to the Managing Director of Flogas Energy and has a dotted-line report to the Flogas Group IT Director.
As a key member of the Flogas Energy Leadership Team, the Business Services Director will be integral to the company's success, overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Flogas Energy's IT strategy, data strategy and systems and interactions with external market systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for the delivery of all aspects of the IT and Digital strategy, budget, resources, systems, third party management within Flogas Energy
* Overseeing the development and enhancement of systems and integrating new systems with existing systems for Flogas Energy.
* Management of third-party systems/service providers to ensure appropriate contracts, commercial arrangements are in place and to monitor service delivery to ensure that agreed targets and standards are met.
* Analyse business requirements, identifying the need for upgrades or new systems
* Build relationships with Flogas Energy business leaders to understand their IT requirements for their departments and put appropriate support models in place.
* Effective leadership of a diverse team of skilled IT professionals across multiple locations.
* Coach and mentor individual team members on an ongoing basis, review performance, setting out goals and objectives annually.
* Contribute to the development of the Flogas Energy's strategic and business plans, particularly in relation to IT, in support of the company's strategic objectives.
* Devise and establish Flogas Energy IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by the business.
* Budget management for each project as well as managing the financial aspects of the entire Business Services department, such as purchases and ongoing budgeting with regular reporting to key stakeholders.
* Develop a real time reporting framework for Key Business Metrics to deliver information to the Flogas Energy Leadership Team and key stakeholders.
* Liaise with Group IT Director on all centrally provided services to ensure service levels are defined and maintained in line with the expectations of Flogas Energy
Candidate Profile:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience required.
* 5+ years' experience in a leadership role focused on business solutions and applications with extensive involvement in the full life cycle of solution delivery from inception, through design and deployment.
* Extensive experience of working with partners and Systems Integrators to deliver complex IT/Digital enterprise platforms and solutions, and ERP platforms in particular.
* Experience in Energy markets and systems is desirable.
* A strong working knowledge of back-end infrastructure, cyber and networking.
* Strong and demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and trust with business leadership to develop IT Strategy
* Proven leadership in driving and executing Human Resources initiatives to achieve business objectives.
* Demonstrates clear and effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff, both business and technical
* Passionate about emerging technologies such as AI that can help add value to the business and increase efficiencies.
* Proven track record of managing IT projects within budget and timeline constraints.
* Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail, with demonstrable experience of a project-management approach in delivering longer term goals.
* Strong personal commitment to succeed.
* Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
