We're seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our bookstore team.
You'll play a key role in assisting customers, driving sales, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:
Greet and assist customers with a friendly, knowledgeable approach.
Recommend books and products based on customer interests and needs.
Answer queries about stock, pricing, and online ordering options
Sales:
Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Upsell related items (e.g., stationery, gift wrap) to boost sales.
Promote special offers, loyalty programs, and upcoming events.
Stock Management:
Shelve and organize books and products to maintain an appealing display.
Assist with stock deliveries, inventory checks, and restocking.
Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to the manager.
Store Operations:
Keep the store clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times.
Help set up displays, author events, or seasonal promotions.
Support online order fulfillment (e.g., picking, packing) as needed.
Team Support:
Collaborate with colleagues to meet daily sales and service goals.
Share book knowledge and insights to enhance team expertise.
Requirements
Experience: Previous retail or customer service experience preferred (bookstore experience a bonus but not required).
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills (POS, email, online systems).
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment.
Passion: A genuine love for books and reading—bonus if you're familiar with Irish authors or popular genres.
Physical: Comfortable standing for long periods, lifting boxes (up to 15kg), and shelving stock.
Availability: Flexible to work weekends and peak seasons (e.g., back-to-school, Christmas).
