Job Overview:

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Machine Tool Setter to join our team in PEMCO who operates to the highest quality and efficiency standards in the sector. Working as part of the Production Team, the Machine Tool Setter will be responsible for a range of tasks including tool changes, machine setting, etc. The Tool Setter will also ensure that all materials and other relevant requirements are available in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Duties:

* Responsibility for mounting, aligning and securing tools in the production making the relevant technical and mechanical adjustments as needed.
* Regular measurement of work pieces – in conjunction with QC - to determine accuracy of machine operation.
* Detailed observation of machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions.
* Responsibility for operation of forklift to set and remove tools from machines
* Responsibility for removal of tools from machines when production run is finished Responsibility for inspection of first and last piece from latest production run with the assistance of QC, Production Team to ensure that any necessary adjustments or repairs are performed.
* Work with Production Planning to ensure that jobs are set up as required so that production schedule runs as efficiently as possible.
* Responsibility to ensure that materials and relevant packing are in-place pre-production to ensure optimal production efficiency.
* Ensuring accurate use of the stock rotation system.
* Responsibility to maintain quality records and company quality standards to meet with relevant industry and customer specifications.
* Working with the production team, logistics, sales and purchasing teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of customer orders.
* Maintain and update tool set up sheets as required.
* Responsibility for co-ordinating first-off and last-off parts with QC. Start up and shut down of moulding machines and ancillary equipment, applying industry best practices at all times.
* Assist in the validation of new and existing equipment as required.
* Complete and document in full, all preventive maintenance activities in a timely manner Support continuous improvement activities to help optimise the performance of the moulding department.

Job Requirements:

ü 4+ years of experience in Injection Moulding, Tool Making or a similar field is essential to be successful in this role.

ü Previous tool setting experience is highly desirable.

ü The successful applicant will have to be mechanically minded with a strong interest in engineering.

ü Must be able to demonstrate experience in working to the highest possible level of quality and efficiency standards.

ü Must be proactive in approach to work and have an ability to clearly and calmly resolve problems.

ü Must possess excellent communication skills to work as part of a cross-functional team with Production Team, Quality Control, and Tool-Room.

ü Must be able to record and manage detailed quality control records that will be inspected by Management, Customers and Auditors on a regular basis.

ü Ability to check accuracy and quality of finished parts.

ü Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.

ü Good Literacy and numeracy skills and relevant employment experience.

ü Hands on approach, ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
