OverviewAutomation Engineer, Charles River Development, Officer. Work as a senior member of a Scrum team to execute the overall quality plan for one of Charles River’s products. Provide support and assistance to customers and other teams within Charles River. The candidate should be a sharp automation engineer with strong problem‑solving skills and a solid software testing foundation. This role requires a talented, detail oriented, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about quality with the ability to grasp tough issues quickly and deliver well engineered, high‑quality solutions. We are looking for a strong software engineer to build out the next generation of our software test automation infrastructure as part of our Quality Assurance Infrastructure team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering and supporting the software infrastructure that enables automated product validation. This position provides services for planning and the execution of central automated regression runs for all product departments. In addition, this candidate is responsible for maintaining and expanding the labs which host both automated and manual testing as well as conducting staging and certification of the product media during the ship‑stage of a release.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the scrum master, product owner, architect, business analysts, product specialists, developers and other project team members to assist in carrying out the software quality responsibilities of the Scrum teamCreate comprehensive test automation scripts from business requirements and functional specifications documents for product features of moderate complexityExecute manual and automated functional, integration, regression, and performance testsMaintain automated and manual test script libraries for functional, integration, regression, and performance testingAlign with the Software Development Life Cycle practices, comply with Information Security and Data Governance practicesInterpret results of automation tests and document software defects in issue tracking system; proactively communicate issues with developers and other project team membersProvide testing leadership by identifying opportunities for improvement in the Scrum team’s QA methodology, innovate by researching and recommending new approaches to automation of testing, including use of Artificial IntelligenceAdhere to a testing schedule to ensure efficient and effective product deliveryActively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectivesParticipate in “testathon” activities as required by releasesGuide and mentor junior staff in proper creation of automated test scriptsQualificationsEducation: B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background. MS degree strongly preferred.Experience:2 - 4 years of experience in software testing in a process driven technology environmentDemonstrated experience programming with C#, SQL and shell scripting languages such as PowerShell and BashDemonstrated experience implementing automation tests with Silk4Net strongly preferredDemonstrated experience implementing and executing automation test scripts against web, native/desktop applications, APIs and batch applicationsDemonstrated experience using test cases, scripts, and automated test tools for verifying requirements on multi‑tier applicationsDemonstrated ability translating business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plansKnowledgeable in one or more CRD functional areas strongly desiredA minimum of 3 years working with an Agile development methodology strongly desiredEffective written and verbal communicationEmployees are expected to work from the office 2 days a weekAbout State StreetState Street is one of the largest custodian banks, asset managers and asset intelligence companies in the world.
