Senior Buyer Electronics Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer with a strong background in electronics and proven negotiation skills. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability & Supply Chain, this newly created role will work alongside an existing senior buyer and the wider supply chain team to manage key supplier accounts, balance cost, quality, and delivery, and support the companys sustainability initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop both new and existing electronic component suppliers. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships to ensure material availability and performance. Negotiation: Lead strategic negotiations with suppliers, leveraging market intelligence and commodity price analysis to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and optimal lead times. Procurement Strategy: Align procurement activities with the companys supply chain strategy, contributing innovative ideas to improve processes and performance. Cost & Risk Management: Drive continuous cost reduction and manage material risks to improve availability and reduce supply chain disruptions. Internal Collaboration: Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet production demands, manage inventory, and support project success. Market & Technical Expertise: Maintain expert knowledge of the electronics industry, market trends, and components being procured. Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes, ensuring compliance with policies and ethical standards. Key Skills & Qualifications: Strong understanding of the electronics supply chain, including component types, major suppliers, and market dynamics. Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing cost savings and developing supplier relationships. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities for interpreting market data and resolving supply issues. Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software; experience with supplier portals is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and global suppliers. Leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, with a specific focus on electronics components.
