Job Overview
This role leads defined sourcing categories and manages a team responsible for ensuring the effective supply of materials and components for product manufacturing.
The position partners with Product Development, Supplier Engineering, QA, Quality, and all cross-functional stakeholders to align supplier capabilities with engineering, quality, and business requirements.
The role owns category strategy, supplier performance, cost optimization, and risk management, while supporting the growth and development of the Strategic Sourcing function through improved processes, tools, and initiatives.
Success is measured through strong KPI delivery, operational excellence, and team performance.
Responsibilities
The manager provides both strategic oversight and day-to-day leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals and functional standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Own and execute category strategies aligned with business growth and cost objectives.
Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Deliver against KPIs related to cost, quality, service, risk, and innovation.
Drive process improvements, implement sourcing tools, and strengthen governance frameworks.
Oversee supplier qualification, audits, and performance management to ensure compliance with GMP and quality standards.
Proactively manage supplier risks and resolve performance issues across the product lifecycle.
Support planning and budget activities while contributing to the long-term development of the department.
Experience Required
Typically requires 5–8 years of relevant experience, including proven leadership expertise.
The ideal candidate has:
Experience owning sourcing categories with measurable business impact.
Strong people leadership and performance management skills.
A track record of aligning sourcing strategies with business goals and delivering against KPIs.
Experience improving processes, tools, and functional capabilities.
The manager must balance strategic leadership with operational execution while building scalable capabilities that support departmental growth.
