Role Description
As a Maintenance Technician within the Engineering team, you are responsible for fabrication and general maintenance in the factory, providing support for the plant facilities and services. General Maintenance will help support the Engineering and Quality teams in maintaining optimum performance.
Responsibilities:
1. Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
2. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
3. Plans repair work using equipment manual as needed.
4. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
5. Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
6. Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
7. Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
8. Calibration and testing of plant equipment, alarms, and instrumentation in accordance with CMMS, Vendor recommendations, and/or contractual requirements.
9. Liaison with sub-contractors to ensure maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner.
10. Timely response to plant/equipment failures with plant repair or replacement as appropriate, and recording completion of same with CMMS.
11. Identification and management of appropriate spares required to ensure reliability of plant operation.
12. Ownership of permit to work system, general work permit, LOTO, hot works permit etc.
13. Use of remote monitoring tools such as BMS to verify plant condition.
14. Availability for response to plant failures outside normal operation hours in accordance with roster for same, and general availability to assist in remote troubleshooting where appropriate.
15. Make suggestions to improve plant reliability and operational efficiency in conjunction with Maintenance Lead.
16. General maintenance duties required for plant, services and WWTP.
17. All duties to be carried out in accordance with relevant safety procedures, documentation and training.
18. Responsibility for ensuring that all work is carried out accurately and with due diligence.
19. Effective time management and execution of work within defined timeline and budgetary constraints.
20. Plan and coordinate all shutdowns in conjunction with management.
21. Ensure Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully respected and taken account of.
Qualifications
1. Multi-skilled / cross-skilled ethos.
2. Previous experience in a facility maintenance environment would be an advantage.
3. Some knowledge in maintenance and experience of supporting a high volume manufacturing environment.
4. Ability to interact with suppliers, internal customers and external contractors.
5. Results driven.
