Our client is a speciality Irish-owned food manufacturer, producing high-quality dessert products enjoyed by an expanding customer base across multiple international markets. This is an opportunity to join the Technical team on a 12-month fixed-term contract as a Specifications Technologist. This role is based onsite in South West Dublin.
Role Overview
The customer specification technologist will be responsible for specification generation, reviewing of artwork/labels etc. against specification detail and helping to ensure that compliance is maintained and meeting legislative requirements.
Responsibilities
Prepare and manage customer product specifications for retailers, food service and internal factory specifications with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Completion / Approval of new line forms, raw material, internal and external customer specifications as requested i.e. food service & major retailers in Ireland and internationally.
Request and check raw material specs and associated documents and maintain the Supplier Approved list.
Liaise with technical requests internally and externally from all departments (Sales, NPD, Quality & Sourcing) including customers.
Ensure product information meets with legislative requirements as well as internal and external policies.
Review and manage artwork, packaging and foods labels to ensure compliance against internal and external specifications.
Documentation Support: Ensure all necessary documentation, such as artwork and certifications, is properly attached and up to date and managed.
Project manage new upcoming products from NPI to artwork/ label sign off.
Provide support where appropriate within the team and externally to meet the needs of the business and the customer.
Involvement in product packaging designs, NPD/innovation processes for new products and creation of new recipes.
Assist with internal and retail customer audits as well as regulatory body audits such as BRC (AA+), HSE and FDA.
The Person
Education: degree in a relevant field such as science, food technology, or similar.
Food legislation, labelling and quality standards (HACCP, BRC, Internal Audit skills preferred).
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and data management tools is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Open to learning, able to work well within a team and take initiative with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Driven, self-motivated and detail oriented.
