Join us in developing treatments, finding cures, and pioneering the path from lab to life while championing patients every step of the way.Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Trade Compliance Manager, located in Cork, Ireland responsible for the sites of Janssen Science in Cork (IRE) and Leiden (NL).Global Transportation & Trade Operations EMEA supports both sectors of Johnson & Johnson: MedTech and Innovative Medicines, leads a sophisticated transportation and trade operations network across Europe, Middle East and Africa supporting various modalities and service levels driving outstanding performance operations, transport reliability and trade compliance and maximising Integrated Logistics Operations (Control Tower) and Third‑Party Logistic sourcing base.As a Senior Trade Compliance Analyst, You WillPurpose of the position is to be the Trade Compliance responsible for Janssen Sciences in accordance to the Global Trade Compliance Standards to ensure compliant, lean and efficient import & export processes in EMEA, managing Customs Clearance Agents while minimising risks and reducing the overall E2E operating costs.The focus for this role will be the close collaboration and partnership with the different Segment and Global Trade Compliance functions in end‑to‑end Supply Chain to strive for reliable and compliant day to day import/export operations.Coordination and operational oversight of regional Trade Compliance set up. The Role will be key contact towards the business for accurate set up of product classification, country of origin & valuation. In collaboration with Global Trade Controls and Transport and Trade Operations deploy Global J&J trade compliance standards, striving to improve compliance and mature trade operations capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as Trade Compliance DRI for the assigned area of businessOversee compliance with Customs & Trade related legislation and regulations.Establish, document and ensure periodic update of trade compliance processes and procedures in accordance with the Global StandardsDevelop and deliver training, cross‑functionally, to relevant collaborators.Support Janssen Sciences Global Trade Compliance Internal Assessment program by carrying out site assessments and managing identified improvements/developments.Ensure compliance with, and optimisation of, all applicable customs special procedures (IPR, OPR, Customs Warehousing, Temporary Import, etc.)Support Janssen Sciences’ participation in Supply Chain Security and Import Compliance Programs (eg AEO).Ensure appropriate maintenance of customs related records in accordance with JnJ and Legal requirements.Drive EMEA duty savings projects and initiatives with close collaboration with Global Trade Controls leadership teamConduct analysis on import/export data to identify potential duty mitigation opportunitiesCoordinate smooth internal and external trade compliance audits, conducted by Customs Authorities and internal auditors.Collaborate cross‑functionally (Supply Chain, Logistics, Tax, Finance, Sites etc.) to support corporate planning initiativesSupport department requirements for documentation collection, evaluation, and retention.Serve as a company contact with internal partners and external service providers including our customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.Support in research and preparation of binding rulings, scope rulings, post‑entry amendments.Support HTS classification (US and International)Support international export programs to include screenings and preparation of necessary export documents such as COO requests.Post shipment/entry document review for Customs audit.Support other International Logistics and Trade Compliance team initiatives, as necessary.Skill Sets And RequirementsEducation: Degree in Trade Compliance / Logistics / Supply Chain / Business / Law / Finance or equivalent experience required.RequiredMinimum of six (5) years of confirmed experience in Trade Compliance area.Experience with international trade flows and import/export documentation.Experience in customs brokerage activities, 3PL management.Experience and/or training in one or more of the following areas of competence: Union Customs Code (UCC), World Customs Organization, HTS code determination, Customs valuation principles, rules of origin, free trade agreements, INCOTERMS.Good interpersonal skills.
