About the Role:
Zero One is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Data Centre Engineer with 10+ years of expertise in mechanical building services. In this role, you will take the lead in designing and delivering major projects across the EMEA region, ensuring quality from concept design through to client handover.
You'll be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining client relationships, and supporting the development of junior engineers within the team. Acting as a key technical leader, you'll guide projects to successful completion, ensuring high standards and on-time delivery.
What We're Looking For
Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in mechanical design, ideally with strong exposure to data centres.
Qualifications: Professional engineering qualification required.
Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, building controls, plumbing, and drainage design.
Leadership: Ability to lead projects, manage priorities, delegate effectively, and mentor junior engineers.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and report writing skills, with the ability to represent the design team in client-facing meetings.
Team Player:
Capable of balancing multiple tasks while maintaining a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
Growth Mindset:
Openness to continuous training and progression into a lead role within the data centre team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee project deliverables, ensuring quality standards are met.
* Provide technical leadership and support to the engineering team.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
* Monitor project scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure efficient delivery.
* Report regularly to senior management on project progress.
* Support the professional growth of junior and intermediate engineers through training and mentorship.
* Actively contribute to resource management and project planning.
* Promote a positive and collaborative work environment internally and externally.
