Group Sourcing (GS) operates in an exciting and dynamic environment, offering an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain knowledge and expand their career in Procurement. The role of the Buyer is to assist clients across the ESB Group in procuring goods and services valued between €5k-€300k, achieving the best value for money while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, internal procedures, and the code of ethics governing state bodies.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage tenders and quick quote processes, including tender evaluation, in collaboration with the business and in accordance with ESB Procedures.
* Manage commercial negotiations and debrief unsuccessful tenderers.
* Develop close working relationships with internal customers.
* Evaluate spend outside of Framework Agreements for inclusion in existing or new Framework Agreements.
* SAP contract management and administration.
* Supplier identification & sourcing.
* Identify areas for process improvement.
Experience and Qualifications
* High levels of commitment, judgment, and interpersonal skills are required.
* Work experience in a business environment.
* Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
* Knowledge and experience in Procurement.
* Professional qualification in finance, business, or procurement is desirable but not essential; candidates must be willing to undertake procurement qualifications if required.
* Willingness to participate in internal and external training.
Location
This role is based at ESB's Head Office, F27.
ESB supports smart working—combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment for flexible working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction, with attendance at the workplace for at least one anchor day per week, subject to manager approval and operational needs.
Reporting to
The role reports to one of the Group Sourcing Managers in ES Procurement.
