Mechanical Project Manager Job
We are currently seeking a seasoned Mechanical Project Manager to lead our clients' projects in Tralee, County Kerry. As the key contact for these assignments, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, procurement, and installation of mechanical systems in a pharma plant. Your expertise will be crucial in managing project schedules, budgets, and contractors while ensuring that HVAC, piping, and utilities meet GMP standards. Additionally, you will support commissioning, validation, and overall project delivery goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning and Management: Control all aspects of selected projects from conception to completion, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
* Design and Engineering Coordination: Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure that all projects meet client specifications.
* Site Visits and Inspections: Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Client and Supplier Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of each project, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, codes, and standards, including health and safety regulations.
* Budget Monitoring: Establish structures to monitor, review, and control the budgeted or agreed expenditure.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Directors and Site Managers to support and recommend strategies, identify potential risks or issues, and find appropriate resolutions.
* Reporting: Issue weekly progress reports to the client and engineering manager, and monthly progress reports for Senior Management/Directors.
Candidate Requirements:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience as a Project/Contracts Manager in the construction industry, preferably with a background as a mechanical project engineer.
* Experience working with an MEP engineering contractor or Main Contractor on Life Science, Semi-Conductor, or Data Centre projects is essential.
* Knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC, and Process systems, including their design, installation, and operation.
* Able to travel within Europe occasionally.
* Possession of a full driving license.
