We are currently looking for a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our depot operations team on a full-time basis.
This is a mobile position without a dedicated base location; however, the role will mainly support our depots across the Southeast region (Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow).
Responsibilities
Diagnose faults and complete repairs and preventative maintenance to a high-quality standard.
Inspect vehicles and address issues raised in daily driver check reports, resolving both routine and non-routine defects in line with manufacturer and company standards.
Attend on-site or local breakdowns, quickly identifying issues and restoring vehicles/equipment to operation.
Maintain accurate documentation for all servicing, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Ensure the workshop areas within depots remain clean, tidy, safe, and well-organized.
Identify and report potential safety risks, taking proactive steps to resolve them.
Adhere to all company, regulatory, RSA, and environmental safety requirements.
Participate in the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) processes.
Communicate regularly with the transport team regarding repair progress to support timely vehicle availability for scheduled operations.
Provide technical guidance and assistance to fellow technicians and apprentices when required.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years' experience working in a similar mechanical or depot maintenance environment.
A National Craft Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (SOLAS) or Advanced Craft Certificate (FETAC Level 6) is preferred but not mandatory.
Possession of a full Irish Category B driver's licence is essential.
Category C or CE licence is an advantage.
Flexible, reliable, and willing to take part in on-call rotation and urgent repair work.
Must have valid permission to work in Ireland.
Strong communication skills with good written and spoken English.
