The Galway office plays a key role in supporting core finance operations and offers a collaborative, professional working environment with strong opportunities for development.Role OverviewWe are seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day finance operations of the business. This role will involve transactional accounting, reconciliations, and administrative finance duties, while working closely with senior finance team members. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organised, and eager to develop their accounting skills within a regulated financial services environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.Prepare and post supplier invoices, employee expenses, and customer receipts.Perform bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations.Assist with month-end close activities, including journals and accruals.Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper filing of financial documentation.Support the preparation of management reports and financial statements.Assist with VAT returns and other regulatory or compliance reporting as required.Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to resolve invoice or payment queries.Support audits and internal controls by providing documentation and explanations when required.Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the finance function.Skills & ExperienceDegree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.1–3 years' experience in an accounts or finance role.Experience working in financial services or a regulated environment is advantageous.Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.Familiarity with accounting systems or ERP software is desirable.Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple priorities.Studying or interest in pursuing a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is a plus.Why Join?Competitive salary: €40,000 – €45,000 DOEPension and performance-related bonusHybrid working modelCentral Galway city locationExposure to the financial services sectorSupportive team environment with training and development opportunitiesStrong platform for long-term career progression in finance
