Applications are invited for the position of: Assistant Director of Nursing (Permanent Full time 37.5 hours per week) Anew rolehas arisen within the Nursing Department for the above named position. This is a permanent and full time role, 37.5 hours per week. The Role: The post holder will have operational siteresponsibility and will have responsibility for promoting excellence in clinical care and practice across the hospital.The post holder will be required to provide professional leadership and advice, whilst managing all aspects of nursing services.The Assistant Director of Nursing will report to the Director of Nursing for the delivery of an efficient nursing service within the hospital. They will be responsible for ensuring that professional nursing standards are maintained in line with national standards and local policies whilst also managing the effective utilization of resources. This role will also involve deputizing for the Director of Nursing in her absence. The Candidate: Current registration with NMBI BSc qualification in Nursing and/or Healthcare Services Management or equivalentdesirable Minimum 10 years experience with at least 3 years line management experience Have proven Clinical, Leadership, Managerial & Customer Care skills Demonstrate an empowering and enabling leadership style Demonstrate a high degree of commitment, professionalism and dedication to the role Demonstrate the ability to evaluate information, make timely decisions and solve problems Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills Ability to work comfortably in multi-disciplinary teams, working closely with both clinical and administrative staff. Have a proactive approach to planning Have the ability to effectively co-ordinate available resources Flexibility in work practices.
