Job Summary:
* We are seeking an experienced Pipeline Engineer to join our team. This is a critical role that requires strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Interface Management: Develop and manage interfaces with key stakeholders, including Local Authorities, National Roads Authority, Railway Procurement Agency, Fire Services, and Electrical Infrastructure operators.
2. Liaison and Coordination: Liaise with third parties regarding development near Transmission Pipelines or Distribution Strategic Mains, including Local Authorities Architects, Engineers, and Planning Consultants Property Developers Electrical Infrastructure developers and operators Landowners and Farmers Contractors and Utilities Approve and issue maps, drawings, and relevant codes of practice using technologies such as GIS and DBYD online.
3. Database Maintenance: Maintain a database documenting all third-party activity near pipelines.
4. Reporting and Assessment: Prepare and issue monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal use and regulatory reporting. Assess development proposals and participate in forums to evaluate their impact on pipeline safety.
5. Pipe Protection Measures: Initiate pipe protection measures and supervise construction where necessary. Advise third parties on appropriate procedures during development.
6. Safety Campaigns and Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in safety campaigns and stakeholder information sessions. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for third-party liaison and development near pipelines.
7. Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with Agricultural Liaison Officers and the Distribution DBYD team to ensure consistency. Work with inspectors and operations teams to track and resolve queries. Provide updates and escalate risks or issues to the Senior Pipeline Safety Engineer.
8. Process Improvement: Lead improvement initiatives for tracking and managing third-party development enquiries.
Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
* 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally with knowledge of Transmission and/or Distribution natural gas processes and construction techniques.
* Understanding of safety management and risk assessment principles.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and gain commitment.
* Excellent communication skills across all mediums.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective information-gathering procedures.
* Proactive approach to learning and applying new knowledge.

* Good understanding of business operations and the commercial impact of technical decisions.

Benefits:
* Salary range: 50k - 60k + package.
