POSITION: Sales Manager : Corporate & MICE

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
Sales Manager with responsibility for Corporate & MICE accounts
· Galway based corporate accounts, national corporate accounts, MICE, DMC's accounts with a destination Galway interest.
· Dublin Sales Missions.
The manager will pro-actively be working to drive managed and non-managed accounts and develop relationships with key contacts to increase and convert existing and new business.
The job incumbent should be active, proactive, and achieve results. To maximize hotel revenue by negotiating corporate rates, MICE and group business proposals, achieving growth and delivering sales targets in accordance with the hotels business plan.
TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CLIENT / GUEST EXPERIENCE
· Ensure that clients experience is on brand, genuine and uncomplicated service.
· Ensure client requests are handled in a timely and personable manner.
· Field & qualify phone calls and email enquiries.
· Communicate professionally to outside clients and internally to colleagues.
· Supply clients with pertinent information in requested format.

MAIN DUTIES
· Create an effective pipeline that targets key markets with a focus on measurable outcomes and deliver budgeted sales and profit margins for all business segments.
· Chase SFDC pipeline on a timely basis and close sales timelines.
· Manage key accounts/key prospects to ensure maximum yield in line with budgetary objectives for Corporates MICE & Groups.
· Schedule outside sales calls to target existing and new customers.
· To facilitate site inspections of the hotel and entertain clients as appropriate to support efforts.
· Complete 12 appointments weekly and ensure SFDC is time relevant. Change to 10
· To develop and maintain strong relationships with Corporate Planners, DMC and MICE contacts.
· Attend any trade fairs relevant to your market as a representative of the property, ensuring that the quality image of the Hotel is portrayed, and that every opportunity is taken to promote the Hotel.
· To have a strong knowledge of competitive set and remain up to date on key business market analysis to determine guest needs, occupancy potential, desired rates, etc.
· Maintain valid call objectives and relevant action plans for key accounts/key prospect and ensure all follow up is executed in a timely manner.
· Create and execute account plans/company needs analysis for top 30 accounts.
· Develop plans, activities, and promotions and take responsibility for the compilation and execution of quarterly sales action plans as agreed with Director of Sales and Marketing.
· Qualify business leads and engage with client on programme needs.
· Increase sales volume and profitability by assisting in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas as stated in the hotel marketing plan.
· Assist with contracting process for FIT & Group rates.
· Complete corporate contracting process by Oct/Nov each year.
· Contact in-house guests to foster additional business, repeat bookings, or referrals to other MHL Hotels.
· Prepare proposals that are geared to maximise profit while satisfying guest needs.
· Assist in the completion of monthly booking report – statistics & P&L.
· Assist in the development of annual sales goals.
· Prepare accurate forecasts as requested.
· Coordinate activities related to booked business with other departments.
· Communicate requests for special accommodations and suites.
· Pre-block all special requests or VIP accommodations accurately.
· Communicate with Front Office Manager all group VIP's for appropriate treatment.
· Communicate guests' requests to all departments in an effective and timely manner.
· Ensure own function operates within cost restraints.
