The Networks Engineering department in ESB Engineering & Major Projects is the centre of engineering design and project delivery for ESB's Transmission and Distribution Project Management Teamis a key part of Networks Engineering and is responsible forproducing design framework tender packages, carrying out tender evaluations and compiling technical and commercial evaluations reports across a suite of substation, cables and overhead line design services, monitoring and reportingproject programming across Networks Project Delivery as well as commercial management of External Designed Projects. This Senior Design Contracting Specialist role requires closecollaborationwith the Framework owner,Networks Project Delivery Group and other external delivery services and contingent labour providerscontributing to effective day-to-day operation of the design framework. The role will also play a central part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timely processing of contractor payments, including oversight of the systems that support payment workflows. Key Responsibilities Process, track and verify contractor payments for completed works. Use appropriate IT systems to assist in the management of day-to-day activities. Develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders by ensuring a culture of open communication. Support HV Project Manager to produce regular KPI reports and framework oversight. Assist HV Project Manager with the development of new frameworks Assist HV Project Manager in relation to new tenders and co-ordinate the issuing of mini tenders as required. Assist HV Project Manager to carry out audits as required. Support contractors on standards, training requirements and performance expectations. Coordinate training and assessments for Contractors where required. Experience and Qualifications Essential 5+ years relevant work experience is essential. Strong commercial and project management capability. Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management with Clients and ability to influence Self-starter with ability to manage own work and support others within project team. Contractor Management experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as MS Project and Excel. Hold a full driving license and have access to a car. Flexibility in all aspects of the role, including travel nationally. Desirable Experience in leading or working with cross functional teams with a mixture of project resources including direct reports, contractors etc An understanding of all elements of substation scoping, planning, design, costing, construction and commissioning. Qualifications Essential Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience (of a minimum of 5+ years). Location This position will be based in either ESB E&MP Dublin/ Cork offices but travel to project locations as required, is a key requirement of the role The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
