ResponsibilitiesJob Title: Fleet Maintenance EngineerLocation: DublinFull-time: PermanentSalary: €48.000 - €52.000Job Summary:Manage and co-ordinate the DC’s Fleet activities. Develop and implement strategies to provide a level of service to the DC that meets or surpasses expectation. Ensure that the fleet is maintained to the correct standard. Meet the daily needs of the distribution centre. Ensure the fleet meets compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements whilst balancing the business needs against the cost to meet budgets and delivery schedules. As the backbone of some of the world’s largest restaurant brands, including McDonald's, Martin Brower prides itself on simplifying supply chains and driving efficiency in food logistics.Major duties & responsibilities:Ensure the provision of a comprehensive Fleet Management service to Site Management, which is in line with central established policiesManagement of contractors, ensuring work quality and cost effectiveness to meet the requirements of the operationTo assist the Distribution Manager with the formulation of annual budgetsTo keep aware of industry standards and new design developments, making recommendations for efficiency and cost improvementsInfluence and coach depot personnel to improved fleet efficiencyThe control of all maintenance and repair procedures and practices covering commercial vehiclesMaintenance of all Health and Safety policies covering the use of equipmentAdvising and auditing Site Control procedures for the safe and legal operation of commercial vehiclesTo advise and support sites in the actions required to complete accident repairs to meet the requirements of insurersEnsuring full compliance of our O licenseScheduling of all equipment for service or repairsEnsuring that the daily availability of equipment meets the operational needsControl of all maintenance invoicesRaising and control of purchase ordersCommunication with suppliers to minimise equipment downtimeCarrying out minor defect repairsChecking and agreeing defectsQuestioning and challenging suppliers over repair times and costCost centre budget controlSupplier meetingsMonitoring compliance of Health & Safety by supplier’s staff when on siteMaintain vehicle history files and ensure compliance with legislationProvide statistical analysis of cost to the transport manager to assist with cost reductionProfile:Previous experience within a fleet supervisory/management positionCalm under pressure, with good activity planning and organisational skillsStrong H&S awareness with a passion to improve performance in this areaTrack record of keeping to service and cost commitmentsInnovative approach, forward thinking, able to think ‘outside the box’ and generate new opportunities for improvementA team player and team builderStrong attention to detailAbility to set and deliver against challenging performance targets and budgetsExperience of unionised environmentsA flexible approach to working hours; to meet the needs of the businessPrevious experience in HVG mechanical maintenanceExperience in contract negotiationQualificationsTechnical Competences:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 5+ years of related experienceHGV class 1 licence (Essential)HND or City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)Experience of Microsoft packages – Intermediate Level (Desirable)Awareness of all current and pending industry legislation and developments (Essential)Behaviour Competences:AdaptabilityAccepts and adapts to changesLearns new skills to meet new needs of the businessSuggests changes and improvementsQuality Work OutputProduces high quality workFollows safety practices and compliance policiesUses time wisely and gets things doneMeets or exceeds deadlinesTakes responsibility for own actionsService OrientationSupports Martin Brower’s mission, vision, and valuesMeets or exceeds customer needsResponds to requests in a timely mannerTakes the initiative to meet customers’ needsResourcefulnessUses materials, processes and tools efficientlyTakes initiative to solve problemsDoes the most important work firstGets things done while still upholding ethics, integrity, compliance and company valuesTeamworkWorks with others to get things doneOpenly shares feedback and information that helps the teamTreats others with respectIs approachable to othersListens so others feel heardDevelops relationships built on trustPeople-First Culture: At Martin Brower, our employees are our greatest asset.
