The Role
We are looking for a well‑rounded, application / production support engineer to liaise between external vendors, end users and technology team to provide oversight and stability within a production environment.
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in supporting complex investment management platforms and applications. This will include front‑office investment systems, business support applications and complex back‑office data management and automation platforms. The successful applicant will have strong technical skills and a self‑starter attitude to assist with trouble shooting and problem solving.
The support team are responsible for supporting the entire ecosystem, monitoring batch process, completing overnight checks, trouble shooting, communicating, and escalating production issues. This team also support all daily customer requests. The technology stack includes database, API, Batch, ETL and Web Applications all in support of big data. The system is in transition into cloud.
The successful applicant will join an existing global team responsible for supporting the overnight batch process on mission critical applications as well as ongoing customer service requests.
Candidates will be required to work rotating Irish hours:
8.00 AM – 4.00 PM / 9.00 AM – 5.00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting complex investment management platforms and applications, monitoring batch process, completing overnight checks.
Management of multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ensuring availability of the system through identifying, escalating and trouble‑shouting issues.
Supporting business requests through the day.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Follow company software development processes and standards.
Work on independent small projects to support and improve the system.
Keep up to date with new, technology development and implementation.
Ensure that SLAs are managed to customer expectations.
Collect metrics to work towards continuous process improvements.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience
Experience in a support role, ideally with a focus in investment management.
Technical fluency to use your software coding skills to automate manual processes in the production environment (python hands‑on experience preferred)
Ability to make changes to existing code for minor bug fixes/enhancements. (Java/Python experience preferred)
Experience with MS SQL Server, SQL database query and reporting experience.
Experience in working in UNIX environments.
Experience with Business intelligence tools (Tableau / Power BI)
Experience with the use of Enterprise Scheduling/workflow software (autosys preferred)
Fluency in configuring/using modern monitoring tools desired (e.g. DynaTrace, Splunk etc)
Exposure to Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, Test Management for JIRA) an advantage
Experience supporting applications hosted on the cloud.
Strong Oral and written communication skills is essential.
Ability to multi‑task, organize/prioritize tasks and work in a deadline orientated environment.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to associate experience with current events in order to resolve problems or generate new ideas.
Process Oriented with strong attention to detail and a follow up ethic.
Results oriented with a strong understanding of business/end user requirements.
Approachable
Ability to create excellent working relationships within and across teams.
Familiarity with Finance / Investment Management industry data domains.
Experience with SAFe Agile framework.
Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins is an advantage.
