Head of Communications

Brightwater Capital LLC is seeking a Head of Communications to lead a strategic function that protects and enhances reputation, builds public trust, and supports delivery of national-scale initiatives in south of Dublin city centre.
The Opportunity
This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and creative thinking to support a high-impact, purpose-led organisation. As a senior leader, you will report to the Communications Director and develop and execute an integrated communications strategy across external relations, media, brand, social, and internal communications.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and Deliver Strategic Communications Plan: Create a comprehensive communications plan that covers PR, public affairs, social media, brand, and internal comms, ensuring aligned messaging and effective stakeholder engagement.
* Manage External Communications: Lead day-to-day external communications and media relations, ensuring consistent and aligned messaging with stakeholders and internal teams.
* Build Stakeholder Relationships: Foster strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and internal teams to support business and reputational objectives.
* Lead Marketing Communications: Develop and implement strategic marketing communications to enhance brand relevance and audience engagement.
* Oversee Agency Partners: Manage agency partners to ensure quality outputs and strong performance.
* Implement Internal Communications: Develop and execute internal communications initiatives to drive engagement and alignment among employees.
* Plan and Execute Media Campaigns: Design and implement media campaigns and events, measuring effectiveness and impact.
* Manage Communications Budgets: Oversee communications budgets and contribute to team leadership.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a strategic thinker with strong execution skills and a deep understanding of communications as a business enabler. You thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and are passionate about driving positive change through clear, consistent messaging.
Requirements
* 10+ years in senior communications roles with a strong track record of success.
* Expertise across media relations, issues management, internal and external comms, digital and brand.
* Experience engaging with complex stakeholder groups across public and private sectors.
* Strong social/digital media and content strategy capabilities.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Proven crisis and incident communications experience.
* A relevant degree (e.g. Communications, PR, Marketing); PRII membership is a plus.
